What Happens During Your Hammam Marrakech Session?
Your therapist arrives with everything needed — Beldi black soap, kessa glove, Moroccan clay, plant oils. She sets up your space and adapts the treatment to your skin type. No hammam is required: a simple shower or bath is enough, though steam does enhance the effects.
The scrub begins with Beldi black soap, left on for a few minutes to soften dead skin cells. The kessa glove then works deeply to lift away dead skin, revealing new, radiant skin underneath. Anything applied afterwards — mask, oil, massage — absorbs up to three times better after this exfoliation.
Our therapist, certified and trained in traditional Moroccan rituals, selects products to suit your skin: Atlas salt or brown sugar for a mineral-rich scrub, coffee and warm spices to boost circulation, or blue Nila for an instant glow.

What is a traditional Moroccan hammam?+
The Moroccan hammam is an ancestral ritual of purification and exfoliation, traditionally carried out in a steam room. The body is covered in Beldi black soap, then exfoliated with a kessa glove to remove dead skin cells. Our Hammam Marrakech at-home version recreates this ritual with the same products, without needing a hammam installation.
How much does Hammam Marrakech cost?+

What’s the difference between a hammam and a body scrub?+
« Hammam » refers to the full ritual — steam, black soap, kessa glove — historically carried out in a public steam bath. « Body scrub » is the exfoliation step itself, which can be done alone or as part of a complete hammam ritual. At Jamali, both terms describe the same at-home treatment, adapted with or without steam.
Do I need a hammam for the scrub to work?+
No. Every scrub can be done with just a shower or bath — no hammam required. Steam heat enhances the effects but isn’t essential. Your therapist adapts the treatment to whatever you have, whether that’s a riad with a Beldi hammam or a standard hotel bathroom.
How does Hammam Marrakech work as an in-home treatment?+
Your therapist arrives with everything needed. She sets up your space, adapts the treatment to your skin type and carries out the session in 30 to 90 minutes depending on the package chosen. No preparation needed on your end.
How much does a back scrub cost?+
A back-only scrub can be done as part of the Oriental Scrub (230 MAD · 30 min). For a full-body treatment, our 45–60 minute packages start at 380 MAD.
How long does a Hammam Marrakech session take?+
A quick scrub takes around 30 minutes. Allow 45 to 60 minutes for a treatment with clay or massage, and up to 1h30 for the full Body Glow Ritual with steam, scrub, facial and massage.
What products do you use for the scrub?+
Traditional Beldi black soap, Atlas salt, brown sugar, coffee and warm spices, Moroccan Rhassoul clay, and blue Nila — all chosen for their natural exfoliating and detoxifying properties, with no synthetic additives.
Is Hammam Marrakech available at my riad or hotel?+
Yes, our mobile spa covers the whole of Marrakech — Medina, Guéliz, Hivernage, Palmeraie and surrounding areas — in a riad, hotel or villa, with or without a hammam on site. Travel is included, at no extra charge.
Can I combine hammam, scrub and massage in one session?+
Yes, that’s exactly what our Body Glow Ritual offers (730 MAD · 1h30): steam, scrub, facial and hydrating massage in a single session. You can also build your own custom programme — message us on WhatsApp.
Is a hammam suitable before a wedding or a night out?+
Absolutely, it’s one of the most common occasions to book this treatment. Exfoliation immediately brightens the complexion and preps the skin to better carry makeup, self-tan or a facial. We recommend booking the day before or the same morning for the best effect that evening.
